PHOTO EXHIBITION

1. OBJECTIVES

1.1. To provide photography lovers an opportunity to share their images of the diversity and beauty that can be found in forests with visitors to the IUFRO Congress

1.2. To encourage a poetic and narrative view of nature photography focusing on women in the forest sector.

1.3. To encourage and appreciate the art of photography, recognizing talent and encouraging various forms of artistic expression.

2. PARTICIPATION

2.1. Any person registered for the IUFRO Congress can submit photographs.

2.2. It costs nothing to participate, and submissions will be accepted until midnight of September 20, 2019.

2.3. Participants should sign up here, where they will also upload 2 images along with a brief description.

2.4. By participating in this exhibit, participants affirm that the images they submit are their own.

3. PHOTOS

3.1. Participants may submit photos that reflect women’s experiences in forests or in activities carried out within the forest sector.

3.2. The images must be digital files in JPEG format, with a minimum 2,000 x 3,000 pixel resolution (the average resolution for a 6-megapixel digital camera).

3.3. The file name should be the same as the title of the photo (IN UPPERCASE), with no spaces, and attached to the respective field on the registration form.

3.4. The person who sends the image assumes responsibility for authorization to use said image (when people appear in the photos).

3.5. The photos may not be digitally edited or include digital effects such as borders, distortions, or insertion of images which were not present when the original photo was taken.

3.6. Both color and black and white images will be accepted. Adjustments to color, contrast, sharpness, saturation, and the use of filters are permitted.

3.7. By submitting photos, participants agree to potential publication and/or dissemination by Rede Mulher Florestal and by the institutions organizing IUFRO 2019 across different media.

4. SELECTION AND JUDGING COMMITTEE

4.1. The selected photographs will be chosen by a special three-person committee comprised of a photographer, a representative of Rede Mulher Florestal, and a representative of the IUFRO2019 organizing committee.

4.2. The judging committee will choose up to 30 photos which will be included in an exhibition in the Espaço Brasil space, considering the beauty, originality, and expression of the images. Other photos may be selected for display in digital format.

5. FINAL PROVISIONS

5.1. All photographs, whether they are selected for display or exhibition or not, will remain part of the collection of Rede Mulher Florestal, and may be used by the exhibition staff at any time and in any place or form without paying fees or royalties; the name of the photographer will always be cited.

5.2. Participants will not receive printed copies of their photos.
